Career Designs is also one of two schools in Canada offering Podology, an in-depth study of the foot, skin and nails; disorders, diseases and treatments and includes biomechanics, the gait cycle and orthotics. The Canadian Examining Board of Health Care Practitioners Inc. is a private not-for-profit, federally chartered organization which promotes health care programs of Complementary Medicines. This progressive body has set standards of professional qualifications for health care practitioners in this field, and provides a forum for the development, exchange, and dissemination of knowledge and skills appropriate to the requirements of professional complementary health care practice. </div> <bR> <div> Located in <B>Calgary, Alberta</B>, Career Designs responds to the ever growing demand for well trained, caring HCA's , offering a rigorous training program, designed with an attention to detail and respect for the patient. We have a strong record of working in partnership with individuals, facilities, community agencies and industry to establish effective programming that addresses specific labor market needs related to entry level health care occupations. 100% of our graduates are successfully placed in the health care field upon successful completion of their training. We also offer assisstance with resume preparation and interview strategies. </div> <bR> <div> Currently, Calgary is in the midst of a critical shortage of Certified Health Care Aides in all health care settings and this demand for caregivers is only going to continue.</div> <bR> <div> Our <B> </B>intensive <B>6 month,</B> PCA/Health Care Aide Training Program is designed for Adult Education through Home Study, Classroom Instruction, Clinical Labs,  Hospital and Community practicums. The program will provide students with the necessary clinical skills, technical knowledge and specific training experience to secure employment at an entry-level in the health care field. </div> <bR> <div> We also offer a <B> Prior Learning  Assessment & Recognition program ( PLAR ) </B> which is designed for individuals already working as an HCA  with a minimum of  2-3 years current work experience, choosing to persue recognized Certification.<B> </B> </div> <bR> <div> Our training program will provide care givers with the required competencies including clinical skills and technical knowledge necessary to become excellent, qualified care givers.
